How to Diet Naturally to Lose Weight

There are a staggering 70% of us dieting around the world at any one time and there are a number of reasons as to why we might choose to diet. This could be a medically related reason such as diabetes to high cholesterol or a desire to change lifestyle or simply to become healthier and fitter within yourself.

Many of us start diets as a new years resolution after over-indulging over the festive period, however no matter when we choose to start dieting, many agree that the best way to go about it is to diet naturally. Dieting naturally means to lose weight slowly by using normal or 'natural' methods. This includes such methods as more light exercise and slight changes to diet. For example, why not walk or cycle to work rather than get the bus? Take the stairs rather than the lift or have an apple for a snack rather than a doughnut! Dieting naturally is said to be more beneficial than a crash diet or a sever diet such as the Atkins diet as your body slowly gets used to small and less shocking changes in every day life. Further examples include, having slightly smaller meals, eating more fruit and less fat or carbohydrates. These are all simple things to change in a person's life, however lots of minor changes like this can have a major impact on someone losing weight and becoming healthier.

By simply telling yourself you are on a "diet" can make the process of actually dieting much harder psychologically. By simply changing small parts of your lifestyle it can make breaking the psychological barrier much easier.

More methods to help to diet naturally are as follows:

- Eat as many raw fruits and vegetables in your meals as you can, ensure you have plenty of fruits and vegetables at hand.
- As soon as you wake up try and drink a full glass of water this will keep you hydrated and will make you fell fuller. On average an adult should be drinking around 3 litres of water a day, the best way to monitor this is to use two 1 1/2 litre bottles fill both up with water in the morning, and see how much is left in the evening if any. Why not cut out one of your coffee's each day and replace it with mineral water?
- Exercise is very important but does not mean you must run solidly for 3 hours a day! Just a slow steady pace once a day to build a sweat will increase your metabolism and help lose those pounds. Even a quick walk around the block each evening will help shed some weight.
- Try to avoid fatty meats such as port, lean meats are great to eat like chicken and fish. In addition try and replace some high carbohydrate food with high fibre foods.

The worse thing you can do on any diet is feel deprived, if you fancy a little something sweet go ahead and treat yourself, just do it in moderation. Completely cutting out all those favourite foods will make you want them even more and could lead to giving up on fulfilling a diet in the first place.

In addition to the points mentioned above, to diet naturally it is important to have a balanced and controlled diet with plenty of vitamins, starchy food, and protein. Good luck if you are thinking of dieting, losing weight or simply improving your health. Remember to radically make a change doesn't mean you have to radically change your lifestyle.
